Student Regalia

To participate in the Hooding and Recognition Ceremony and Commencement, you must be in full regalia. Harden and Associates, the vendor that supplies Princeton University regalia, is currently taking orders for 2025.

Custom Faculty-Quality Regalia (order by March 24)

This high-quality regalia is custom-made, manufactured specifically for you, and designed for long-term use. With proper care, it may last your entire academic or teaching career. Custom regalia strictly adheres to Intercollegiate Code requirements. 

  • Cost: Approximately $1172 plus shipping and sales tax where applicable
  • Options: Ph.D. candidates can choose either the orange and black gown, officially adopted by the University, or the black gown with black velvet panels. Princeton’s official Ph.D. hood lining is orange with a black chevron 

Standard Regalia (order by April 25)

Standard regalia is manufactured for one-time use and can be kept as a memento. In order to receive a standard hood, a complete set of regalia must be ordered. This sustainable standard regalia is made from 23 recycled plastic bottles and can be recycled after graduation at designated sites on campus. Look for the boxes marked with a Tiger Grad located in the Lakeside Common Building and Old Graduate College Common Room.
