Written by Graduate School Communications March 12, 2024 Princeton Research Day is an opportunity to polish your communication skills, add to your resume, and win prizes. The 9th annual Princeton Research Day (PRD), to be held May 9, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Frist Campus Center, will celebrate early-career research and creative works by undergraduates, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and other early-career researchers. Graduate students from all academic areas are encouraged to learn more and register their interest to participate as a presenter. How does it work? Participants create 3-minute videos and in-person presentations for an interactive showcase/awards celebration. PRD videos are publicly posted and viewed by Princeton affiliates, alumni, and interested community members across the globe. In addition to the opportunity to share a project with a broad audience, presenters are eligible for more than 15 cash prizes that are awarded as part of the event! Why should I present? PRD is a unique opportunity for early-career researchers to develop their ability to communicate complex topics to broad, non-specialist audiences. The PRD audiences include not only Princeton University faculty, staff, and students but also the local community, supporters traveling to the event, and global remote audiences. Public engagement is increasingly important for scholars to consider, and we invite you to showcase your project to this broad audience. And did we mention those awards and cash prizes? Your work may be recognized through one of several PRD awards, which also offer a monetary prize between $750-$1500. What are the deadlines? April 3 - The portal to submit your 3-minute video opens May 1 - The video submission portal closes! All videos must be submitted through the portal.
