James Mi is the founding partner of Lightspeed China Partners (LCP), a leading China-focused early-stage venture capital firm currently manages over $1.9 billion of committed capital. He ranks No. 12 on Forbes 2019 VC Midas List of Top VC globally. James brings many years of operations experience at leading high-tech companies and startup. Earlier in his career, James spearheaded Google's early efforts in China, first as its Head of Asia Products and the Chief Representative of Google China , and later as a Director of Corporate Development, responsible for strategies, products and investments. James received a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University and a B.S. in Physics from Fudan University. In addition, he received executive management training at Stanford University. James holds 14 U.S. patents in flash memory, communications, Internet security, and commerce. 

James will discuss his career journey and leadership philosophy; global/intercultural leadership; how to practice leadership without direct reports (or leadership through influence); applying an entrepreneur mindset to leadership; and the top traits of an effective leader.
