Final Transcripts

If an offer of admission is accepted, a final official transcript from each institution where a degree was earned is required by August 20 (July 1 for the Woodrow Wilson School)

The Graduate School recognizes the significant disruption caused by COVID-19 and will take that into account for transcripts from spring 2020.  While a final transcript submitted by an applicant who is offered admission must still in all cases indicate that an undergraduate degree or its international equivalent has been awarded prior to enrolling at the Graduate School, we appreciate that many applicants currently enrolled in degree programs will pursue pass/fail or other non-standard grading options during this extraordinary time.

If your degree has not been conferred yet, please do NOT order your final transcripts until after your degree has been conferred.

If you have previously earned a degree from Princeton, you will need to contact the Registrar to have your transcript sent to Graduate Admission.

Final Transcript Requirements

  • Completion of coursework required for the degree
  • Official stamp, seal, and/or embossed marking from the school
  • Title of degree earned and date the degree was conferred  (If the degree and confer date are not on the transcript, include the degree certificate or diploma)
  • If transcripts are not in English, a certified English translation must be either sent directly from the translator to Princeton, or in a sealed envelope stamped by the translator.

Original or certified documents are required and will be held on file until the program is completed at which time you may request to pick them up. If your institution only issues you one document, you should consider CertiFile® Credential Verification Service, please see below.

Transcripts from institutions in People’s Republic of China
Transcripts and degree certificates are required. Transcripts must be verified by the China Higher Education Student Information and Career Center (CHESICC); degree certificates must be verified by the China Academic Degree and Graduate information Center (CDGDC).
