The statement should not exceed 500 words and must be written in English. The Graduate School does not have specific formatting requirements.  The goal of the personal essay is to give you space to highlight your unique personal and professional story and share how it has helped to prepare you for success in graduate school.

Please be sure to review the personal essay before uploading and submitting the admission application. If you submitted an application and need to revise the essay, you may upload the corrected version through the checklist if it is before the deadline. After the deadline, no revised personal essay will be accepted.
