Dean Secora has over 20 years of experience in student affairs, academic affairs, residential life, career counseling, mental health counseling and crisis management. As an immigrant and a first generation college student, Dean Secora understands the challenges of navigating higher education and finding your path, your community and what works for you as a student. Her goal is to help you find your path, your community and what works for you as a graduate student at Princeton.

Prior to joining the Graduate School as Assistant Dean and then as Associate Dean, Dean Secora was the Director of Postdoctoral Affairs at Columbia University and the Columbia Irving Medical Center, Graduate Student Adviser in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Columbia University, Academic Adviser at Baruch College CUNY, Counselor and Lecturer at Hunter College CUNY, GEAR UP Program Liaison at Fordham University and Housing/Residential Life at International House of NY. Dean Secora holds a Masters in Counseling from Fordham University and a Masters in Higher Education Administration from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Supervision of the Student Affairs staff
  • Oversee community building and programmatic initiatives
  • Grievance mediation, complaint resolution and solutions to student concerns
  • Management of the nonacademic discipline process
  • Assistance for students experiencing personal difficulties
  • Lead the 24 hour on-call crisis management for medical, psychological and other emergencies
