War of the Worlds tour
Did you know that a 1938 radio version of H.G. Wells' classic 'War of the Worlds' was set in West Windsor Township, New Jersey, and inspired widespread panic, leading to a misidentification of an innocent water tower as a Martian invader, and its subsequent assault with firearms? Join us for a quick tour or three sites related to this unusual event: the assaulted water tower, a park with a series of plaques commemorating the 'Martian landing', and a cafe with a historical War of the Worlds display. Email Tim (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more details. Sponsored by the Graduate School.
