Dr. Alaa Murabit, UN High-Level Commissioner on Health & Economic Growth

This week we're honored to host Dr. Alaa Murabit on Tuesday at 6.30 pm in Robertson Hall to speak on Intersections in the Struggle for Peace: Islam, Women and Millennials. Dr. Murabit is a medical doctor, a UN High-Level Commissioner on Health Employment & Economic Growth, and a MIT Media Lab Director’s Fellow. Dr. Murabit’s TED Talk “What my religion really says about women” was selected as one of four moving TED Talks you should watch right now by The New York Times. With a strong focus on challenging societal and cultural norms and utilizing traditional and historical role models Dr. Murabit champions women’s participation in peace processes and conflict mediation.
