Immigration and the election panel: Latinx Heritage Month 2016

Oct 13 2016 -
4:30pm to 5:30pm

The event, scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 13, will consist of a group of chosen panelists - Jorge Torres, Ali Valenzuela, Carlene Pinto, and a Princeton Student as well as a moderator who will pose questions designed to engage the Princeton community in a nonpartisan conversation on immigration issues in the United States. We anticipate that this event will contribute to the ongoing dialogue regarding the current U.S. immigration system, a conversation in which a significant portion of the Latinx community in the U.S. holds stake.

Jorge Torres - Unidad Latina en Accion NJ
Carlene Pinto - Immigration Campaign Manager at New York Immigration Coalition
Ali Valenzuela - Profesor at Princeton University in the Politics Department, affiliated with the Latino Studies Program
