Hosting Weekend

The first weekend in April is reserved for one of the Graduate School’s most important events, Hosting Weekend. This event is organized to celebrate the school's year-long efforts to increase diversity and to encourage underrepresented and socioeconomically disadvantaged students who have been admitted to matriculate at Princeton.

Hosting Weekend draws together these students to meet and interact with current graduate students and faculty from all disciplines, along with alumni and administrators, to learn first-hand whether Princeton is the best choice for their graduate studies.

Hosting Weekend typically begins on a Saturday evening with a dinner with current graduate students. Sunday is filled with panel discussions about the lives and work of members of the Princeton community. Students will have an opportunity to meet faculty, administrators, staff and members of the graduate student government. That evening, students are invited to a reception and dinner, with a prominent alumnus/a or faculty member as keynote speaker. On Monday students are taken on a tour of graduate student housing and can attend classes and seminars in their respective departments.
